The Wongan Arts Society holds Biennial Art Exhibitions. These have been running very successfully for 25 years and for their 2004, 2006, 2008 Biennial Exhibitions they received the Community Event Of The Year Award. The Exhibition is a four day community event which incorporates Guest Artists, Demonstrators, Entertainment, Performing Artists, School displays,Ccommunity challenges, Promotion of local artists, Awards and Workshops. Prior to and the year before the Exhibitions the members of the Wongan Arts Society work with the Schools in our Shire to produce Banners and Art works to be displayed at the Exhibition and down the main street of Wongan. The Objectives of the Society are to reach and engage with the children, youth or groups that are disadvantaged within the community and surrounding districts due to economic factors. The Wongan Arts Society is dedicated to bringing Art and Craft to the country. One of the main aims of the society is to foster the love of the arts and the performing arts within our community and bring art to the country in all of its forms for the enjoyment and entertainment of our shire and surrounding regions. The regions cultural image is enhanced through this event and gives us opportunities to network and develop relationships with surrounding regions as well as local communities within our Shire.
